Storm Announces Multiple Transactions

The Tri-City Storm has announced multiple transactions that have resulted in the acquisition of several high-round draft picks. The Storm has acquired a 1st round Phase II draft pick in 2024, a 2nd round Phase II draft pick in 2023, a 3rd round Phase I draft pick in 2023, a 3rd round Phase I draft pick in 2024, and a conditional draft selection from the Youngstown Phantoms in exchange for defenseman Andrew Strathmann, and a 9th round Phase I draft pick in 2024. Tri-City has also acquired a 4th round Phase I draft pick in 2023 from the Madison Capitols in exchange for forward Jonah Aegerter in a separate transaction according to a press release from Tri City Storm.

Andrew Strathmann, 17, of Beach Park, Illinois, officially joined the organization by signing a tender agreement on November 18th, 2020. He made his USHL debut on September 23rd, 2021, in Tri-City’s 3-2 overtime victory over the Dubuque Fighting Saints at the 2021 USHL Fall Classic in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. Strathmann notched his first career USHL point on October 8th, 2021, in Tri-City’s 4-1 home victory over the Waterloo Black Hawks at the Viaero Center. He scored his first career USHL goal on November 7th, 2021, in the Storm’s 4-1 road victory over the Sioux City Musketeers. Strathmann’s first career multi-point game in the USHL came on November 26th, 2021, in the Storm’s 3-2 road win over the Fargo Force. Strathmann finished the 2021-2022 regular season with a plus/minus rating of +13. Strathmann previously announced a commitment to play collegiate hockey in the future at the University of North Dakota.

Jonah Aegerter, 18, of Janesville, Wisconsin, was selected 18th overall by the Storm in the 2nd round of the 2020 USHL Phase I Draft. He skated in four games with the Storm during the 2021-2022 preseason. Aegerter made his USHL debut with Team USA on November 28th, 2021, in the team’s 7-5 home victory over the Chicago Steel. He skated in fifty games during the 2021-2022 regular season with the Janesville Jets (NAHL). Aegerter scored thirteen goals and notched nineteen assists for thirty-two total points. He appeared in thirty-four regular season games for the Jets during the 2020-2021 season. Aegerter scored four goals and recorded seven assists for eleven total points. Prior to his time with Janesville, he skated for the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies (AAA,MI) and Madison Capitols (AAA, WI) youth organizations. Aegerter previously announced a commitment to play collegiate hockey in the future at St. Cloud State University.  We wish Andrew and Jonah the best of luck moving forward.  As we move into the 2022-2023 season, we had an opportunity to move two players, and collect a volume of high draft picks over the next two seasons. This should help set us up for continued success in the future.
