The former Mullen public school elementary principal, caught up in a Nebraska State Patrol sting operation, has officially resigned his position at the school. According to the North Platte Bulletin; Justin Moore is charged with soliciting prostitution in an undercover operation, in which a state trooper posed as a prostitute. According to court records, the NSP created an advertisement on a website that offers escort services, including sexual services. Moore allegedly answered the ad, and an NSP officer, pretending to be a prostitute, replied. The two discussed arrangements and a meeting was set up at a North Platte motel, according to an affidavit filed in Lincoln County Court.
As part of the arrangement, the NSP officer left a room key in a car in the parking lot. According to the affidavit, a trooper watched the car as Moore retrieved the key and went to the room. There, he met three NSP officers instead of the woman he expected. He was arrested. According to the affidavit, Moore admitted to investigators that he arranged to meet a woman at the motel. Moore was charged on Oct. 18. His official resignation became effective Wednesday, Nov. 10. He will receive his salary through the rest of November and health insurance through Dec. 31, according to the minutes of the Oct. 8 Mullen school board meeting.
The board voted 4-2 in favor of the resignation and the extended compensation and health insurance.
