District Track Results: A3, D7 and D8

Classes A and D held district track and field meets on Wednesday, with several area state qualifiers shining through. Classes B and C will hold their district meets Thursday.

A3 District at Grand Island

North Platte finished in fourth in girls team scores, while the boys ended in third place. Individually, Kymani Sterling paced the Bulldogs, winning the sprints, taking first in the 100, 200 and 400 meter dashes. Teammate Nic Davis won the shot put as well for North Platte boys. Kylee Tilford led the Lady Bulldogs, winning the high jump. Full results from the A3 are below.

D7 District at Bertrand

The D7 district meet was held in Bertrand on Wednesday, with Cambridge girls and Bertrand boys winning the titles. Maywood-Hayes Center led the area for girls, coming in third with Medicine Valley in fourth and Wallace fifth. On the boy’s side, Medicine Valley finished fourth, while Wallace was eighth and Maywood-Hayes Center 11th.

Medicine Valley was led by Sebastian Kramer, who won the shot put and discus. Teammate Acelyn Klein won the discus and shot put as well for the Lady Raiders. Hayden Kramer won the high jump for Medicine Valley girls as well.

As for Maywood-Hayes Center, they were led by their girl’s relay teams, who took the 4×1 and 4×4 titles.

Wallace was led by their distance runners, with Mariah Gardner winning the 1600 and 3200 runs. Teammate Trey Robertson won the 1600 and 3200 runs as well. Kendyl Flaming won the 300 meter hurdles. Full results from the D7 meet are below.

 

D8 District @ Broken Bow

North Platte Saint Pat’s swept the team titles at Broken Bow, sending a host of athletes to state along the way.  The Irish beat Mullen 116 to 79 on the girls side, while Ansley-Litchfield came in second to the Irish on the boy’s side by eight points.

The Irish got individual titles from Will Moats in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles, Hayley Miles in the 100 meter dash and triple jump, Mae Siegel in the 200 meter dash and long jump and Genna Blakely in the 1600 run. Both of NPSP’s 4×1 relays took gold as well.

Mullen had a great day as well, led by their relays, who won both the 4×8 races along with the boy’s 4×4. Samantha Moore won the 100 meter hurdles, while Callie Coble took the 3200 run. Trevor Kuncl also led the Broncos, winning hte 3200.

For Brady, Dillon Miller brought home two golds, winning the 100 and 200 meter dashes. Falon Hatch led the Lady Eagles, winning the discus, while teammate Abby Jurjens won pole vault.

Paxton’s Colter McCasland won the 1600 meter run, while Sandhills-Thedford was led by Seth Scranton who took gold in the triple jump and Brea Branic who won high jump.

Full results are below from the meet. The State Track and Field meets will be held next week, starting on Wednesday in Omaha for Classes A and D. Classes B and C will begin Friday.
