The North Platte boy’s golf team continued to dominate, winning another invite, this time at the Gothenburg Invite at Wildhorse on Tuesday. The team beat out second place Ogallala by five strokes, 328 to 333 to win it. Host Gothenburg was just one stroke back from the Indians, shooting a 334.
Individually the title went to the hometown golfer in Gothenburg’s Jake Scherer, who shot a 72 to narrowly beat out North Platte’s Blake Barner, who finished with a 73 for second. Teammate Kasch Morrison finished in third with a 77 while Casey Peterson shot an 84, good for ninth overall. Danny Phillips rounded out the Bulldogs with a 94.
North Platte will next compete at the GNAC Conference Invite on Friday at Hastings.
