AUDIO: The Show Goes On: NPHS Presents West Side Story

In times when live events are essentially non-existent, the North Platte High School choir department had to get creative. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and government regulations outlawing groups of more than ten people together, the high school’s performances of “West Side Story” were cancelled in mid-March, just a few days before they were set to take place.

Now, nearly a month later, they are set to live stream a performance from a dress rehearsal of the show and audiences can watch at home. Leah Purdy, Director of Choirs at North Platte High, said a recording was saved from a dress rehearsal and now that is being used as the official performance on the live stream, which will be available to purchase and watch April 27th – May 3rd. The cost to stream it is $12, which includes a whole household and proceeds benefit the choir department for years to come.
