The North Platte boy’s track team rolled to a Greater Nebraska Activities Conference championship Thursday on their home turf, finishing with 149 team points, well ahead of second place McCook who had 98 points. Scottsbluff followed in third with 95 points with Hastings, Columbus and Gering rounding out the pack.

The Lady Bulldogs finished in fourth as a team with 75 points. The top of the girl’s scoring was a tighter race with Columbus winning it at 119.5 points, Hastings was second at 114 and McCook came in third at 86.5.

North Platte boy’s scoring got started off the way it has most of the season in the field events with Joey Larson and Elliott Purdy going 1-2 in both the discus and shot put. Larson won discus with a 172-06 throw while Purdy won shot put at 58-00.5.

The running events were just as successful for North Platte with double gold medal winners from Evan Caudy and Kymani Sterling. Caudy pulled home two golds as well in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs while Sterling won the 200 and 400 meter dashes.  The Bulldog boys also got a gold from Kaden Ross in triple jump, Joel Bradley in the 800 and their 4×1 relay. In total the Bulldogs won nine events on the boy’s side.

Peyton Neff brought home the lone gold for the Lady Bulldogs, winning the 200 meter dash at 26.92.  Their 4×1 and 4×8 relays both came home with silver medals, along with Peyton Negley in triple jump.
