Midwest Championship Fighting is back for round 17, this time arguably with it’s best card ever. Also dubbed the St Paddy’s Beatdown VII, the fight card lists two co-main events along with several amateur and pro card fights along with a few individual championship matches as well. Russ Jones of MCF says this is easily the best card in MCF’s history, thanks in large part to a grant from the North Platte/Lincoln County Visitor’s Bureau.

“They approached me a couple of years ago and asked me if they thought I could grow the event. So over the course of two years I tried to develop different ways to grow it and finally realized I may in fact be able to but the only way I can is if I bring in a real card. I said, if you guys want me to grow it, give me some money and they gave me some money. It’s a pretty solid card, there should be a lot of good fights there.”

North Platte is well represented too, with Jayson Scott (6-0) battling for the 125 Amatuer Flyweight Championship against Isiah Torres (6-1) out of Colorado. Kam Jordan (9-8) of North Platte will also fight for the 135 MCF Amatuer Bantamweight Championship against Kyle Egolf (6-0) of Indiana. North Platte’s David Garcia (2-0) will also have a fight on the amateur card and Mullen’s Cody Kessler (3-1) will as well.

In total the card will have around 16 fights when it’s all said and done. The plan is also to show Ryan McDonald’s premier UFC fight on the big screen at the D&N, whenever that would happen. McDonald, a North Platte native, will fight Chris Gutierrez in Fight Night 148 this Saturday at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

The full card for MCF 17 is below. Tickets are available here and are $25 for general admission. You can also purchase them at Jones Law Office at 101 East 5th Street in North Platte.
