As the country mourns the death of former President George H.W. Bush, those who served with him on Capitol Hill are sharing their interactions and memories of the 41st president. Former Governor and U.S. Senator Bob Kerrey was elected to the U.S. Senate the same year that Bush took the nation’s highest seat in 1989. He says in an ideal world, more people would be like the former president.
Kerrey says Bush was a man of service that cared deeply about the country. He was a wonderful human being and we were lucky to have him serve our nation.
