Nebraska Red Cross volunteers heading east to help Hurricane Florence victims

Hurricane Florence continues to target the east coast. American Red Cross of Nebraska Chief Executive Officer Jill Orton says volunteers from Nebraska are heading east to lend a helping hand.

Eleven of the 700 Red Cross members deployed are from Nebraska and they will assist with transportation, supplies and provide leadership at shelters. They are preparing to shelter up to 100,000 individuals. Florence is expected to start impacting the east coast tomorrow night or Thursday morning. The predicted landfall is Friday or Saturday.
