NPCC Knights Volleyball Defeated by Northeast in Five

North Platte Community College Knights volleyball were defeated by the Northeast Community College Hawks at the McDonald – Belton Gymnasium on Thursday night in a tough five-set match, 25-22, 22-25, 25-22. 21-25, and 15-13.


Luisa Hernandez Marin, a sophomore from Yuma, Colo., had 15 kills to lead the Knights.  Hernandez Marin had a kill efficiency in the match of .195.  Heiden Kreber from Sutherland led the Knights in kill efficiency at .350 with nine kills in 20 attempts.  Gabby Menghini from North Platte added 12 kills.


Taylin McNair from Imperial led the Knights in set assists with 34 and Carlie Wytulka from Nucla, Colo., added 20 set assists.


Bailey Chintala from Fleming, Colo., had 23 defensive digs and Hernandez Marin was one behind at 22.


The Hawks improve to 7-3 on the season.


The Knights, now 5-6 will next be in action on Sept. 11 when they travel to Torrington, Wyo., to play in a triangular against Eastern Wyoming Collegem and National Junior College Athletic Association Division I, 11th ranked Western Nebraska Community College.
