NPSP Lady Irish, Perkins County Boys Win Irish Cross Country Meet

The North Platte Saint Patrick’s Lady Irish won their home cross-country invite on Thursday at River’s Edge Golf Course, taking the team and individual title. St. Pat’s had a team score of 13, beating out second-place Hershey who finished at 44. Wallace was third, followed by South Platte.

Individually, St. Pat’s Senior Kelsey Folchert had a ten-second win over second place Katie Roach of Doniphan-Trumbull. Irish Freshman Kate Steinike came in third just six seconds behind Roach, followed by Maxwell’s Tahjzha Botts. Paxton was led by Adrian Eakins who came in fifth overall. Hershey’s top runner was Varsha Huebner who came in 10th overall.

On the boy’s side, Perkins County swept the top two individual spots with Caden Waitley and Jaden Dietlein dominating the competition. Sutherland’s Joseph Fischer came in third, while Hershey’s Gabe Becher was 4th. NPSP was led by Logan O’Malley who came in 5th overall.

Perkins County easily won the team title with 17 points, followed by Doniphan-Trumbull, Hershey and Sutherland. Paxton was 4th while North Platte St. Pat’s came in 6th overall.
