The North Platte girl’s eighth trip to the State Soccer Tournament ended in tough fashion at the hands of Millard North as the Bulldogs fell 2-0 Wednesday at Creighton University. The Lady Bulldogs were slowed offensively against the Mustangs with only a handful of offensive opportunities while Millard North scored first with 18:10 remaining in the second period off the foot of Sophomore Riley McHugh. It was McHugh’s first goal of the year for the Mustangs.
Millard North added another goal with 7:45 remaining from Freshman Sena Ahovissi, her fourth goal of the year.
North Platte ended their season at 12-4. Millard North advances to the quarterfinals to face Millard West, who knocked off Lincoln Southeast in the first match of the day. The two will play Friday at 6 PM.
The North Platte boy’s soccer team will play their first round match on Thursday at Creighton University, facing top-seeded Omaha South at 1 PM.
