Travel across Nebraska could be very dangerous as winter storm watches and blizzard warnings go into effect for most of the state. National Weather Service Meteorologist Cathy Zapotocny (zappa-TOCK-nee) says drivers can expect blowing snow, strong wind and poor visibility that will make travel extremely dangerous.
The western two-thirds of Nebraska is in that blizzard warning with most of eastern Nebraska in a winter storm watch. Depending on the area anywhere from 6 to 12 inches of snowfall is possible. The only portions of the state spared are the far east counties but they have their own weather issues to deal with. Severe thunderstorms and possibly tornados are a possibility this afternoon.
