The Quality Growth Fund Committee voted to recommend the city gift property located in a flood zone to be gifted to a local business.  Several years ago Quality Growth Fund and NorthWestern Energy economic development funds were both used to pay for the original infrastructure in the area. The property is located in a flood zone and would cost one-hundred thousand dollars to build up to a safe elevation. Mike and Laurie Geier own Mikes Motorcycle and ATV repair, they are ready to expand their business and the property is located east of their current location. The property would have to be developed within  four years or buy the property at it’s assessed value. Taxes on the property would be on the tax rolls immediately. The property is located on Prospect Lane in the Industrial Park area of North Platte.
